First step in the Ghanaian land and the Continent of Afrika , first time through fighting my fear of height in the plane, and also finally first time of being that far away from my family. I could easily say that just in those few days Ghana as given me the opportunity to face and win over a lot of my internal limits.
Ghana isn’t my country but people here have welcomed me with such warmth and hospitality that i feel strangely close to home.
As a Black woman who has spent most of her life in Europe, being in an African country is like encountering a part of yourself that’s been waiting quietly in the background.
Among that I learn about the historical richness of the country, I was able to visit places filled with meaning like The Osu Castle a visit who left me disarm, precisely with the donjons were the slaves were captive.
I eat many different kinds of food as well to start with Joloff Rice, Fried Calamari, Shrimp fried Rice, Spicy chicken and many other dishes more delicious than the first one.
I’ve only been in Ghana for a few days, but it already feels like something in me is shifting.

I don’t know exactly what the rest of my time in Ghana will bring, but I do know the encounter with Ghanaian culture, lifestyle and mindset will not let me unchanged.
